Henslowe’s 8 December 1597 memorandum hiring William Kendall as a Covenant Servant [i.e., actor] for 2 years ‘to play in the howse of the sayd Philyp and in no other’ at the pay of 10 shillings weekly in London and 5 shillings weekly in the country, written and signed by Edward Alleyn.
