Memorandum hiring William Kendall

Henslowe’s 8 December 1597 memorandum hiring William Kendall as a Covenant Servant [i.e., actor] for 2 years ‘to play in the howse of the sayd Philyp and in no other’ at the pay of 10 shillings weekly in London and 5 shillings weekly in the country, written and signed by Edward Alleyn. This fragment appears to have been removed from f. 231 of Henslowe’s Diary: https://henslowe-alleyn.org.uk/catalogue/mss-7/231-recto/ (see W.W. Greg, Collections, Vol. IV [Malone Society, 1956], pp. 27-28) and appears in a collection formed by J. P. Collier.
